Mozart-Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus
Following Christmas, a new year always arrives, which, in many ways, resembles the previous one, yet in many aspects, it is different. In this concert, after Christmas compositions by Arcangelo Corelli and JoaquÃn Rodrigo, Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' will be performed in Max Richter’s 'Recomposed: Vivaldi, The Four Seasons', in a completely new, contemporary guise. However, original Italian Baroque sounds will be featured in Corelli's Concerto Grosso in G minor op. 6/8 'Fatto per la notte di Natale'. And Rodrigo, particularly from the 1940s onwards a central figure in Spanish musical life, combines in 'Zarabanda lejana y Villancico' for string orchestra a Sarabande with a purely instrumental Villancico, a Spanish Christmas song
