Raiding, Franz Liszt Konzertsaal
From Raiding to Bayreuth - Liszt and Wagner
The Liszt Festival Raiding opens its new season with a program that strikingly underscores the connection between Raiding, the birthplace of Franz Liszt, and Bayreuth, the place where Liszt died and the central sphere of activity of Richard Wagner.
The Wiener KammerOrchester, long since an important artistic partner of the festival, places Liszt’s sonorous and magnificent Festklänge and his famous symphonic poem Les Préludes in a compelling dialogue with Wagner’s imposing operatic overtures.
An opening concert that unites historical depth, orchestral brilliance, and immediate fascination, expressing the special mission of the Liszt Festival at the birthplace of one of Europe’s most significant musicians. For the first time, one of Austria’s most experienced and versatile artistic personalities, Martin Sieghart, takes the podium as conductor.
