Biography
The young Serbian-Hungarian mezzo-soprano Irena Wéber has been studying singing at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts since 2011, where she completed her bachelor's degree with distinction.
In January 2018, she won the first prize of the George London Foundation and the Audience Award as part of a Competition of Friends of the Vienna State Opera.
On stage she impersonated the roles of Cherubino, Prince Orlofsky, Dorabella in "Cosé fan tutte" and the third lady in "Die Zauberflöte" , "Frau Welt" in the cantata "Carmina Austriaca" by Gerald Wirth in the MUTH.
Irena Wéber works with KS Univ.-Prof. Marjana Lipovšek and Alfred Burgstaller. She graduated her Master's degree in Song and Oratorio with Univ.-Prof. Florian Boesch at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in June 2019.
