Biografie
The Austrian mezzo-soprano Patricia Nolz studied voice at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Florian Boesch and Claudia Visca. In 2020, she made her debut as Cherubino/Le Nozze di Figaro at the Theater an der Wien. At the Vienna State Opera, she has appeared, among others, as Zerlina/Don Giovanni Rosina Il barbiere di Siviglia, Cherubino/Le Nozze di Figaro, Annio/La Clemenza di Tito, Orlovsky/Die Fledermaus, Stéphano/Roméo et Juliette, and Silla/Palestrina. She has celebrated debuts at the Komische Oper Berlin, the Danish Royal Opera, the Edinburgh and Grafenegg Festival, and the Salzburg Festival, as well as recently as Hänsel at the Opéra National du Rhin and as Octavian at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden under Christian Thielemann.
The “Great Talent” of the Vienna Konzerthaus 2023/24 is also an accomplished concert and lied singer and has appeared at the Musikverein Graz, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, as well as the Heidelberg Spring Festival. She has given recitals at the Vienna Konzerthaus, London’s Wigmore Hall, and the Schubertiade, and will appear for the first time as a lied singer at the Vienna Musikverein in 2026.
Highlights of the 2026/27 season include her return to the Vienna State Opera as Annio and Orlofsky and to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden (Offenbach Les Contes d'Hoffmann), house and role debuts as The Child in Ravel’s L'enfant et les sortilèges at the Hamburg State Opera and at the Opéra Bastille Paris as Zerlina, appearances as Dorabella (Mozart Così fan tutte) with the Camerata Salzburg under Ivor Bolton, and in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Vienna Philharmonic under Thielemann at the Mozart Week Salzburg, as well as numerous recitals in Eppan, Hamburg, Madrid, London, St. Pölten, Graz & Vienna.
