Biografie
The British baritone Jacob Phillips is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London and has been a member of the ensemble at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck since 2023. Since then, he has appeared in roles such as the title role in Eugene Onegin, Ford in Falstaff, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, and Schaunard in La Bohème.
In summer 2024, he performed the role of Gianni Schicchi at the Bregenz Festival under the baton of Brigitte Fassbaender. In the same year, he appeared as Marullo in Rigoletto at Opera Holland Park, where he had previously been heard as Zuniga in Carmen. He has also performed the roles of Marcello in La Bohème and Nick Shadow in The Rake’s Progress, both at the Royal Academy of Music. He appeared at the Linbury Theatre of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in excerpts from Le nozze di Figaro.
On the concert platform, he has performed Mozart’s Coronation Mass at Cadogan Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem at King’s College Cambridge, and the title role in Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
Further career highlights include the role of First Mate in Billy Budd at the Enescu Festival under Hannu Lintu, as well as the role of Count Almaviva at Opera Holland Park.
