Biografie
The Viennese soprano Martina Neubauer has a broad and versatile repertoire spanning opera, operetta, Lied, and concert literature. From the 2026/2027 season, she will join the ensemble of the Landestheater Niederbayern, where she is scheduled to perform roles such as Agathe in Der Freischütz, the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro, and Alice Ford in Falstaff. She has previously appeared as Countess Zedlau in Wiener Blut, as Iva the Diva in Von 0 bis Oper, and as the Queen Mother in Richard III. at the MusikTheater an der Wien. In addition, she performed Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the Vienna Opera Summer Festival.
Martina Neubauer is a prizewinner of the LIONS Music Prize, the Gabriele Sima Vocal Scholarship, and the Musica Juventutis Competition at the Vienna Konzerthaus. She was also awarded second prize and the audience prize at the Hans Staud Music Prize. In 2024, she reached the final round of the International Singing Competition Neue Stimmen and was a finalist in the Otto Edelmann Singing Competition.
She received important artistic guidance through masterclasses with Elīna Garanča, Linda Watson, Ian Bostridge, and Adrian Eröd. Alongside her operatic career, she is also active as a concert singer, regularly appearing as a soprano soloist at the Vienna Musikverein and the Vienna Konzerthaus.
She is particularly passionate about Lied, which she performs together with her duo partner, pianist Alexander Koschka. The duo appears regularly in concerts and competitions and was awarded third prize at the International Copenhagen Lied Duo Competition in 2025, as well as the audience prize in the final of the Sibelius Singing Lied Duo Competition in Finland. In 2026, the duo will be part of the Leeds Song Festival in England.
