Biografie
Guilherme Marques Caldas is a Brazilian violist based in Europe. Born in São José do Rio Preto, he began his musical studies in Brazil before continuing at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK). He later joined the academy of the Staatskapelle Berlin, where he performed regularly with the orchestra at the Berlin State Opera. He is currently studying at the Barenboim-Said Akademie under the guidance of Professor Yulia Deyneka.
He has participated in prestigious festivals such as IMS Prussia Cove, the Järna Festival, and the Lucerne Festival, and has received awards at the International Summer Academy (ISA), including the Viennese Classicism Award and the Artis Quartet Award.
As a guest musician, he frequently collaborates with the Ilumina Ensemble and has performed in major concert halls, including the Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, Wigmore Hall, KKL Lucerne, and the Berlin Philharmonie.
Deeply committed to chamber music, he regularly collaborates with leading artists and ensembles.
