Biografie
Yume Zamponi is an Italian-Japanese violinist based in Berlin. She began her musical training with Eloise Hellyer and Paola Besutti before continuing her studies at the Vecchi-Tonelli Conservatory in Modena. From 2020 to 2023, she studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School in London with Lutsia Ibragimova, and since 2023 she has been studying at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin under Mihaela Martin.
She has been awarded first prizes in several national competitions, including the Adotta un musicista Competition (2016), the Crescendo Competition (2016), the Riviera Etrusca Competition (2017), the Premio Zamparo (2017), and the Andrea Postacchini Competition (2024). Her artistic development has been further shaped by masterclasses with internationally renowned musicians such as Daniel Barenboim, Barnabás Kelemen, Pavel Vernikov, Maxim Rysanov, Emmanuel Pahud, and Yulia Deyneka.
As an orchestral musician, she has performed regularly with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim, appearing in major concert halls and festivals including the Berliner Philharmonie, the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms, Musikfest Bremen, Rheingau Music Festival, Salzburg Festival, Lucerne Festival, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Isarphilharmonie Munich, and the Royal Festival Hall in London.
She is also active as a chamber musician and soloist, performing internationally at venues such as the Pierre Boulez Saal and Konzerthaus Berlin, the Yehudi Menuhin Hall, and festivals in the UK, Italy, Israel, and South America. Recent highlights include performances of Mendelssohn octets in Berlin and Hamburg, solo appearances in Italy and Colombia, and collaborations with the Akademie fĂĽr Alte Musik Berlin. In 2024, she served as concertmaster under the direction of Daniel Barenboim. Since 2026, she has been a scholarship holder of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and performs on a violin by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume.
